Steve Jobs

To all Search Engine Optimization Organization of the Philippines members, many of us learned about the death of Steve Jobs. He is truly revolutionary and have a radical passion in technology. Hi s products are not just hype but they deliver on what is promised. With the iPad for example, even a 2 year old kid can play with it. Kids can read books on it and even interact with their grandparent through its web camera.

The death of Steve Jobs touched many young people today because they are one of the most targeted market of his latest products, the iPod, iPhone and the iPad. Not only the young people but the adults as well. Those who are technophobic were able to use Steve Jobs’ gadgets because of its simplicity in design, aesthetics and functionality.

Steve Jobs is a person who loves to go beyond technology. He plays with it and innovate it so that even the average person can enjoy it. It’s like getting the tech stuffs from geeks to the average people. I believe that that’s the very thing that got him fired from the very company he founded with Steve Wozniak, the Apple Computers. They couldn’t control him and is always out of the plan, refusing to fit the “common”.  As Steve Jobs said, “I didn’t see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything.”

After he was fired, he built the the company NeXT in 1986. Many of the innovators from Apple went out with him. He started a non-popular corporate culture. From salaries to benefits, the policies are very innovative. He even gave health insurance unmarried couple and same sex couples. He built the NeXT company on the basis where people can THINK different and CREATE to evolve. When Apple bought NeXT in 1996, he became the CEO again of Apple and the culture he build from NeXT became the very foundation of the Apple today.

After that, success after success came to Apple and we all know of the products they created and how it changed the world use technology as part of our daily lives. Even though corporations from left to right seem to be downsizing and cutting costs, Apple continues to thrive upward.

A few words from Steve Jobs:

“I’m pretty sure none of this would have happened if I hadn’t been fired from Apple. It was awful tasting medicine, but I guess the patient needed it. Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith. I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle.” – Steve Jobs

  1. I’ve read a few tributes / but this one is the best – I think Steve would be proud to see people wanted to model themselves on his legacy and work.

    Rest in peace Steve Jobs.
